On 9/22/15, Tim Cavanagh was featured in a story on In the Loop, a public affairs show airing weekly on WYCC PBS Chicago. The episode covered the story of Kathryn Kuk, one of Cavanagh’s former clients. Ms. Kuk sustained injuries during a Metra train derailment back in 2002.
In the Loop investigated Positive Train Control, or PTC, a set of technologies implemented to prevent train crashes before they occur. Cavanagh was interviewed as an expert on railroad accident cases. He discussed the progress other cities have made installing PTC, including Los Angeles and Philadelphia. Since the story aired, Congress has extended the deadline for implementation of PTC.
