CHICAGO — Cavanagh Law Group founding partner Tim Cavanagh has been named the Best Lawyers® 2022 Personal Injury Litigation — Plaintiffs “Lawyer of the Year” in Chicago.
Attorneys recognized by the publication are selected entirely by their peers through a rigorous review process.
The lawyers with the highest overall peer feedback for a specific practice area and geographic region receive the additional designation of “Lawyer of the Year.” Only one attorney is chosen per location and specialty.
Cavanagh was peer-selected in the field of Personal Injury Litigation – Plaintiffs in Chicago.
He was also chosen by his peers for inclusion in the 2022 edition of The Best Lawyers in America® in the field of Personal Injury Litigation – Plaintiffs. He has been named to the list every year since 2015.
“It is an incredible honor to be recognized by my peers,” Cavanagh said. “I have devoted my career to helping individuals and families following catastrophic injuries and tragic events. I am proud of what I have accomplished for my clients and look forward to continuing to serve them with passion and purpose.”
Since founding Cavanagh Law Group in 1997, Cavanagh has obtained more than 60 verdicts and settlements in excess of $1 million for clients in Illinois and across the country. Recent settlements include $6 million for a man who sustained a brain injury after nearly drowning in a supervised pool; $3 million for a pedestrian whose leg needed to be amputated after he was struck by a CTA bus; and $2.1 million for a truck driver who was injured in a low-impact collision in Chicago.
Cavanagh has been included in every edition of the Lawdragon 500 Leading Plaintiff Consumer Lawyer guide, which has been published four times since 2007. The list recognizes just 500 personal injury attorneys across the U.S. who are top in their field.
He has been named an Illinois Leading Lawyer for 19 consecutive years and an Illinois Super Lawyer for 17 consecutive years; each list recognizes fewer than 5% of attorneys statewide.
