CHICAGO SUN-TIMES: Ex-Cop Gets Probation for Off-Duty Beating Outside Andersonville Bar

Former Chicago Sgt. Eric Elkins has been sentenced to probation for beating two men outside an Andersonville bar in 2018. The victims are represented by Cavanagh Sorich Law Group in a pending lawsuit.

“Our focus is now on the civil case,” CSLG founding partner Tim Cavanagh told the Chicago Sun-Times.

At the time of the 2018 attack, Elkins was still on the force despite a checkered history that included at least 35 citizen complaints and allegations of sexual abuse across two states. The victims suffered serious injuries.
