CHICAGO DAILY LAW BULLETIN: Cook County Will Hear Suit in Fatal Limo Crash

The lawsuits that were filed and consolidated over a 2016 limousine crash that killed one person and injured five can be heard in Cook County, a state appeals panel ruled Friday.

“We’re pleased the appellate court has affirmed Judge Gillespie’s decision that the case belongs in Cook County, where the decisions were made to not abide by the [maintenance of traffic plan], Illinois tollway guidelines or the [Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices],” said Cavanagh Sorich Law Group founder Timothy Cavanagh, who filed a lawsuit in the case.
