CHICAGO — Cavanagh Sorich Law Group partners Tim Cavanagh and Stacey Feeley Cavanagh have been chosen for the 2020 Lawdragon 500 Leading Plaintiff Consumer Lawyers guide.
The exclusive list recognizes 500 personal injury attorneys across the U.S. who are top in their field. Honorees are chosen based on submissions, journalistic research and editorial vetting by a board of peers.
The guide has been published three times since 2007. Tim Cavanagh has been included in every issue. This is Stacey Cavanagh’s second year.

Earlier this year, Tim Cavanagh, Stacey Cavanagh and partner Michael Sorich obtained $6 million for a man who suffered a mild traumatic brain injury after nearly drowning in a supervised pool. He was submerged for more than five minutes before being rescued by a fellow swimmer; lifeguards were standing just 10 feet away but failed to scan the area.
Within the last 12 months, the firm also has obtained $3 million for a man whose leg was amputated after being hit by a Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) bus, $2.1 million for a cement truck driver injured in a low-impact collision and $2.4 million for a pedestrian who suffered severe head injuries after being struck by a car in a Pennsylvania parking lot.
In 2018, Tim and Stacey Cavanagh were part of the CSLG trial team that obtained a landmark $20 million settlement with the City of Chicago after a drunken off-duty CPD detective killed two men in a fiery crash in 2009. The settlement successfully compelled the Chicago Police Department to acknowledge its long-entrenched “code of silence.” In 2014, the attorneys obtained a $6.65 million verdict for the family of a man killed in Kuwait in one of the only overseas wrongful death cases ever to be litigated in an American courtroom.
