On May 5, 2017, Tim Cavanagh and Michael Sorich secured a $1 million settlement on behalf of Maria Tahir and Tahir Khan against Horga, et. al., arising from the wrongful death of their son.
On November 9, 2014, a fire trapped Maria Tahir, Tahir Khan and their children in their third-floor apartment. Tahir was forced to drop two of his children to safety from the third-floor window. Following their children, Maria Tahir and Tahir Khan jumped from the third story window. Ans Khan was not able to escape the fire and sustained injuries that resulted in his tragic death. Ans Khan is survived by his two siblings and his parents, Maria and Tahir.
